This program is suggested for students working toward careers in veterinary medicine, animal research, and technical expertise for businesses specializing in genetics, reproduction, nutrition or pharmaceuticals.
Career Opportunities
Employment of agricultural and food scientists is projected to grow 5 percent from 2014 to 2024, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Animal scientists will be needed to investigate and improve the diets, living conditions, and genetic makeup of livestock, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
